I would argue against MT's providing the best reaction on wet roads over an HT, unless I'm misreading your intent/wording. I have yet to use a mud tread that'll out perform a dedicated road tire.
the best reaction on any road will be the tire with the stiffer side wall.
my comment on "wet" roads was more about the ability of the open lug design of a MT to channel water out of the contact patch. the MT will not have any benifit on damp roads but as more standing water is encountered the more they shine.
I have the Hankook DynaPro ATM and this is what I can tell you.
Pros:
Highway driving is average, impressively quiet for how agressive the tread is. Decent performance on wet roads. Average performance on ice. Very good performance in snow. (and I mean driving through actual snow, like 4" - 12", not a skiff on the road). Have never tried them in mud. Very, very good performance and stability on gravel roads. I have frequently found myself travelling at 65mph+ on gravel without even realizing it (without trailer).
Cons: if your alignment is out, even a little bit, they seem to be very prone to uneven wear, which will make them NOISY howling tires. I have them on 2 trucks and have experienced the exact same results with both vehicles. Tread life seems to be above average. Even with some uneven wear both of my trucks have lots of tread life left in them. I have put on 22,000miles on my Ex and tread wear is minimal.
tire pressure at 55 or 60 on the Ex provides a very stable feel with the Dynapro ATM.

Reaction autocorrect from traction, which is what I had meant to say. Thanks technology, lol.
Standing water yes, absolutely agree. For me that's more flooded than wet, especially these past two days in Houston. I have seen more boats on roads than cars.
So I went by Costco / Samsclub 15 miles away and they sell the LT265/75/16 BFGoodrich TA/KO 2 for roughly 850 mounted. I then checked a local shop about 2 miles away and they sell both the LT265/75/16 and LT285/75/16 Bridgestone Dualer AT Revo 2 mounted for 905 and 950 respectively.
As much as I liked the aggressive looks of the TAKO2 I am leaning towards the Revo 2's as they look to be the better all around tread for up here. Any thoughts between the two?
Benefit of sticking local is much easier for tire rotations as I work in a town in the opposite direction, so it would be rare for me to go to Costco / Sams.
Damn, you live in Alaska and 15 mins is too far....I lived in Texas where 1 hour was just to get to the other side of town....lol. I have seen a lot of guys with Revo 2's and they seem to like them. I have some Hankook's on our extra vehicle and I am not that happy with them. Tread wear is horrible and they are louder than the TA's we used to have.

haha yeah I'm lazy and avoid Anchorage if I can. My drive to work is actually in the opposite direction and is 35 miles one way, so I'm used to the driving. I just would rather support a locally owned business versus the big guys if I can.
having never driven those in the snow my comment is just an observation based on using other tread patterns but those look about as useful in the snow as a pair of roller skates on a ice rink. they look like they would be a decent daily driver and as long as the load index jives with your GVW the should do ok towing.
So got the Bridgestone Dualer AT Revo 2 LT265/75/16. The tires I had on the truck had some miles on them from the PO and looked like they were never rotated. Took the Excursion on the highway and my vibration I had at 55-65 is now gone.
Time will tell how they hold up but once I get some towing miles behind me I will try and get a better review for the tire section.

I think you will be happy with the Bridgestones I have the 285's on mine and they handle great. We had 33 inches of snow in nyc in one day and the Ex went right through without any problem. Super quiet too , good luck
