E250 vs e350

Hello, I have a 1991 e 350 ecoonline, the rear end is shot, can I used e250 rear end with the same springs, or must it be a 350 rear end. Also what about a e 150. As I look, what years should I search for, 1985-1991, or will othe years work. This is a bucket truck that I use on my own property, I would like the option of taking it on the road, but no a necessity. Can I cut the u bolts and leave the springs attached, or should I take out everything. Thanks, located in Wisconsin.

The 97+ 250 uses a semi-floating rear axle, I believe the earlier ones were both full-floating, might possibly be the same, but I'm not certain. I have replaced several rear ends, always cut the U-bolts and left the springs in, I would never put a 1/2 ton axle in place of a 3/4 or higher.

I think he wants to use a 3/4 ton rear end in a 1 ton chassis.

E250 uses a D60 semi floating axle while an E350 will have a D70 full floating axle. The D60 will bolt right in and work just fine but it doesn't have the same weight rating.

Van is wider and the spring perches would be off, along with shock mounts.
