I hate to do it, but I just have to brag a little bit… A fewweeks ago I bought my first Ford. A newto me 2011 F250 crew cab Lariat 6.7.Saturday before last I packed up the wife, three dogs, two kids, and oneof the kids cousins and took off for nine days on the road living like gypsiesout of our 33’ Jayco camper. We spent acouple days at Stone Mountain and then trekked down to the beach for a coupledays and couldn’t be happier with the way my Super Duty performed.About 750 miles round trip and the trucknever knew it was dragging a mobile home and enough junk to fill a warehouse. My wife was reluctant to trade up to the 250,but half way through our excursion she looked at me and admitted that she couldn’timaging making that trip in the ½ ton we had previously. We are currently planning our next outing and althoughwe haven’t yet nailed down which direction we will head in, one things forsure…our truck will be up for the challenge.

As much as I enjoy camping, I had grown to dread pulling our camper with our old F150. With the F250, I am once again looking forward to our trips. No longer is the trip something to be endured in order to enjoy the destination. Now I enjoy the trip as much as the stops.

Amen to that. I'll try and post a pic when I get home today, but we did see something cool on the way home. We stopped to get some fuel and a bite to eat and when we came out of the restaurant, backed in right beside me was a 1979 Airstream 5th wheel. I got to talk with the owner for a minute and he said it was a prototype and only three were made. One is in California and the other is in a junkyard. It looked awesome.
