Yes, the exhaust manifold studs are an issue on nearly all modular motors it seems. They can be a pain to deal with but like I said earlier, I did mine here at home when I installed headers.
I hope that at 116k miles it still has plenty of life left in it, mine is close to that mileage and I intend to continue towing heavy with it for another 8 years or so!
IL is in the great Winter Salt Belt, also known as the Rust Belt. Be sure to look thoroughly for any rust, up behind and inside the rocker panels from underneath and under the bottom rubber seal on the doors are the typical first places to rust out. If you get serious about that rig, pull that K&N filter off and check the inside of the intake air tube for ANY dirt/dust, so many people love to install those reusable filters but many never clean them and they don't filter as well as the very good OEM paper filters. A dirty intake tube is evidence that that filter is killing the motor.
If everything checks out good, then yes, in my opinion 10K seems like a decent price for that lifted EX.
Well.. With all that said, The potential rust issues has kinda steered me away. It would be an 8 hr drive to get it and after seeing that brake booster rusted, Im sure there are other areas like that... Im looking at a 2003 4x4 with the V10 and a 2010 front end conversion on it, looks super clean has leather and only 84k miles.. Hes stuck at 13500 for it. Its a georgia truck though so that should eliminate the rust issues for the most part.
Like start to finish Georgia truck, or he's not the original owner and lives in Georgia?
Carfax tells more than the owner of a multi-owned vehicle can as far as where it's been its whole life. Mine was sold as a WA rig, they don't salt so I wasn't too worried. When rust started appearing I dug deeper and found out it spent the first 9 years of its life in Ohio.

In the last two years (since our Snowpocalypse/Snowmageddon) GA has been dropping brine near busy intersections. Knowing this (in the future) I would look for vehicles "below the Fall Line" (an arc from Columbus through Macon to Augusta), the only areas of this activity would in ATL metro which is 60% of the state population.
GA has also tripled their snow fighting vehicles from 2 to 6.

That sounds nice!! Maybe even a better deal too.
I agree with getting the Carfax too, even if it has to come out of your own pocket. Dealers should provide it though.
Definitely sounds like a V-10 will suite your needs. More because it wont be driven constantly.
Only advice as agreed with WE3ZS is that once gassers get lifted with larger tires it takes a major hit in useable power. Gears can fix this for sure.
I have a 3V 5.4L in a CC/SB F250 on 35's and its brutal. I'm on the fence about trading in and going to a 6.0L as I have a long commute to work and travel a lot. Love the get in and go factor of the gasser.
Is it me or do the body panels not line up quite right? Front fenders to doors? Thinking maybe a hasty swap job? I'm personally not sure if its just a bolt on swap or needs fabbing? Not sure about your state regs but if you got pulled over in NY those tires stick out too far. Would need fender flares. Missing some cladding on the back lower quarter panels? Drivers door panel missing the light lens cover. Radio antenna looks a little bent?
Kinda bothers me when people don't put much effort into an add. He really doesn't say much about the truck. Miles? Accidents? Anything major/minor parts replacement? He is going to have tons of people calling just to get info that you could have easily posted. Makes me wonder if he is hiding anything.
Yeah, the fender to door seams need to be trued up a little, the interior doesn't look as nice as the other lifted V-10. They removed the Limited lower body cladding but they left the job unfinished by not installing the rear quarter panel rock guards, they cover those holes left there without the cladding. And again a 6.8 with 35"s and no mention of a gear change..........expect less than impressive performance until you get the effective ratio back to AT LEAST the stock 3.73 to 4.30 range, deeper gears and the 6.8 are a good match, these motors not only love to rev but make their best power at those higher revs.
Agree on the tire being too far out, would not pass PA state safety inspection like that, would need flares that cover the tire OR the correct rims for the truck.
All things being equal as far as potential rust, studs and such, I like the IL rig better, but maybe things are not equal.
Ok, So far the criticism isnt to bad lol.. This one is almost 5 hrs closer, and has 30k less miles. The GF likes this one better too.. I did notice the fender looking a little out of whack, but all the other shots he sent me everything looks pretty straight. Fresh plugs, coils and oil change.
Looks like its a 2000 model, Not a 2003. I liked it and was ok at 13k for a 2003. But for it being a 2000 I dont think I like it as much lol
So the guy that failed to include most of the info on the truck and it's mods also didn't know what year it was......................he wasn't a Nigerian Prince by any chance was he?
I am pretty sure the 2000 year wasn't available with adjustable pedals, heated seat, CD in radio and a few other little things you might take for granted if you have already looked at 2003-2005 models.

My 2000 has heated seats and cd in radio....no adjustable pedals though. ...and yes factory.
