Another Atta Boy For Ed
Ed did convince me to pull the alt and have it checked as well I did not think there was a problem there but for piece of mind I did it anyway, It was O.K.
But I had been looking at different options for alts had a contact for the L/N 230 so I got it and installed. Nice unit and voltage readings were improved while the g/p's were still on right after startup.
Did the FICM & alt about a month or so back but had not taken any road trips to see if there were any fuel economy increases. So two weekends ago blasted to Waco for a two day Motorcycle race @ Waco Eagles club. ( A great bunch of guys) Two bikes & gear and me & two riders not much weight at all maybe 1000 lbs. in the bed. I am VERY pleased Lie o Meter stayed in the 23 to 24 mpg range the whole darn trip and speeds were almost never below 70 mph and usually more like 75+
Hand calculated reality was more like 21.3 to 22 but heck I never was much more than 19 on a good day with a tail wind and never a tick over 70 mph. Now I can not give Ed all of the credit for the increased fuel economy because back in November I did the EGR delete but I think all of the up-grades combined have gotten me the best fuel mileage I have ever seen in the 8 years I have had this truck.Oh and the atlas 40 is Good Stuff cept I will defiantly have to put new rear tires on next fall if not sooner
and now saving for the SCT & some custom tunes...So as the saying goes Atta Boy Ed! I am yet another Happy customer.
Bill.
