does anyone make leather reupholstery kits for our trucks? i know i can order the vinyl from lmc and what have you but 1 i loath vinyl and 2 leather lasts longer and 3 i'd like to cover my dash (stupid cracks) with leather and it makes no logical sense to me to not do the seat in leather also.
also does anyone have a source for seat bottom foam? mine is fubar
I have my old seat if you want it. The vinyl is torn up on the driver side, but the foam is undamaged as far as I can tell. Let me know if you are interested and I can take closer look to make sure.

sounds interesting but salem is a good ways off 3-4 hours if i recollect properly, i'd be interested potentially if it's in good shape minus the vinyl
stockinteriors.com may be able to help you out on this.
thanks for the tip, damn leather is expensive... but probably worth it in the long run. only thing i didn't like with those guys is only the seating area is leather the rest is still vinyl.... i wonder if theyd do the hole shabang in cow?...... hmmmm the squirrel is running
I bought one of the kits from LMC that is vinyl and velour (or some other material. I actually like the velour in the seating area, but then again I am on a very limited budget. Though this seat cover was the most expensive thing I bought for the interior by far...
That seat cover looks great. I was going to suggest a local upholsterer. I had my seat done. All new foam, fabric and stitching for $100. Not sure how the original seat was, comfort wise but my seat has a 1 1/2 memory foam top layer and is super comfy. It is leatherette though but she told me she could stitch a whole new leather seat for me for $150 including material and even do custom stitching, etc.. I had no idea that the little grey hair hang out fabric store could do all the work that they do there..lol
Bonus is that all the little grey hair grandmas love the old orange monster so they usually cut me a deal on stuffs..haha

axidjw, where are you located in NC. I'm near Gastonia and could use a connection for a good, reasonably priced upholesterer.
I'm in asheville. Well, a little city to the south of Asheville called Fletcher. The fabric store is located here in my town. A block up the road there is a "professional" upholstery shop that deals on cars only and he wanted $800 to redo the foam and sew me up a cover. I paid $100 at the fabric store, albeit it took about a week to get it done but the pro shop was going to put me on a 2 month waiting list anyways so I can't imagine what a full leather redo would cost at the pro shop but I'll be honest, it cant be so spectacular that I'm willing to pay $1000 for it. Hell I only paid $1500 for the truck and maybe have 750-1000 in it since I first got her.

I peeled the seat cover back a bit and took a closer look. It looks like there is a thin layer of foam sewn to the vinyl with a burlap type backing. If that is the case, then the foam is 100% good as the burlap portion is still intact. If not, that top 1/2 inch or so of foam is worn in a couple spots. Sorry about the picture orientation, the phone decided to rotate it. The torn portion is the seat bottom. If this is better than what you have, I'd be happy to have this thing out of my garage and going to a good home. I could even meet you half way or more almost any day as I work in the Portland area, but weekends would be better for traffic. 3 hours sounds about right the last time I went to The Dalles, which is pretty close to you.

That is crazy cheap! I would jump on that deal real quick too. The last time I went to an upholsterer around here was for an old Scout and he wanted like $300 to recover those two little square frame front seats in it.
