The stock michelins have about 5/32" left. So I'm getting ready for a new tire. I was able to only get about 50,000 km on these tires. I drive a bit of gravel but mostly highway, no off-road. I have a set of dedicated snow tires for winter. Ive been looking for reviews on tires but most refer to winter handling which I'm not interested in. Just a good tire that wears and rides well and won't throw gravel too much. I tow max about 10-12,000 lbs a few times a month.
On my 2006 I had some
Cooper zeon ltz. Very cool looking but they lost some larger chunks of rubber when I drove on a newly build gravel road (large 2-3" stone)
Any thoughts or recommendations? Not interested in winter performance. Thanks!
I just put a set of Goodyear Wrangler Adventure AT tires on my truck. My previous tires were the Michelin AT2 (43k miles) and BF Goodrich AT2 (50k miles) and I noticed an immediate quitter ride and is a bit smoother due to the Kevlar sidewalls. They're rated for 60k miles so we'll see how long they last but so far with about 5k miles the thread appears to be wearing great.
In addition I noticed some of the 2017 Super Duty pictures on the net are also equipped with the Goodyear Wrangler tires.
60k miles is like 96 KM - That seems like it would last the OP at least double mileage.
I didn't have any problems on my AT2s getting 40k miles and so far with 9k, the M&S Michelin's that came with my 2015 are looking good. I"m hoping that since I will be going to a winter dedicated tire for our 8-9 month winter that those stock tires will last a long time.

How are they with gravel? Do they throw stones or do you find the larger gaps between treads help not pick up as many stones?
They look good and a friend recommended them but I wasn't sure about the noise on highway as they look a bit more aggressive.
Any mileage difference?
Edit: sorry thought that was the duratrack. But still interested in mileage and gravel driving.

If I was looking for a mostly road tire with low noise I would look at the Michelin LTX M/S2. I have never run them on a Super Duty, but I see them on plenty of 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks. I had them on an Expedition and they were fantastic. 70k mile tread warranty and they were nice and quiet. I don't every recall them throwing rocks so I haven't really thought about that. But as far as every other aspect of the tire, I was really pleased.
I have the Toyo RT's on my F350. They are probably a little noiser than the stock Michelins, but they have been fantastic in rain, snow, mud and desert so far.
My stock Michelin M&S tires, which IIRC, are the ones 89LX306 is referring too, throw rocks all the time and there are little stones stuck in the treads... But this is a state that uses sand and gravel for snow/ice traction...

I second the Toyo AT/2 tires. An LT tire with a 70,000 mile warranty can't be beat.
I've always been a fan of the good old fashioned BFG ATs. Not loud on the road. Good looks. Decent price. Ive ran other tires, expensive and cheap. And I feel the BFGs are the best in all around traction. Wear is good for normal driving. One thing that I have noticed is that they are easy to burn though if you have a lot of power (500+ HP) or bad alignment. They go pretty quick then. Only ran 3 years on a SD and towing and was pleased with outcome.
Yea the tire rep here was a big fan of the BFG ATs. But I'm not a fan of them, something about the tread design.. but hey it's like Coke versus Pepsi when it comes to tread looks
I'm leaning towards the Toyo AT or AT Extreme. The rep said they have a new tread that is supposed to last a while.
The last truck I ran large tires on was my 2014 6.0L but it had the leaf suspension in the front which inhibited how big you could go with a tire. What is the largest tire I can run on the stock rims? I'd like to keep the height about the same but wider looks great. But I'm open to taller if it will fit with stock height. I do have the bilstein 5000 on but I don't think that changes the room for tires. The rep suggested the 295/60R20.
I second the Toyo AT/2 tires. An LT tire with a 70,000 mile warranty can't be beat.
Where do you see that? I'm only seeing 50k mile warranty for the LT Toyo AT2. Not that 50k is a bad warranty.

You can view the tires specs of the tires you are looking at on the manufacturers website. That will tell you how wide of a tire is recommended for a wheel width range. That said...I run a 37x13.50 on stock 20x8 wheels (Toyo recommends minimum of 8.5" wheel width). Some tire stores won't mount that tire on that wheel.
