Well, here we go again...

About 3 or 4 years ago when I lived in Kenmore, WA, there was a man that prowled a local park (O. O. Denny Park) and while they were looking for this man, police sketches could be found all over the place. In store fronts, at the post office, and mailed to some neighborhoods, was a sheet with the sketch and "Have you seen the O. O. Denny Rapist?". Problem was, the man in the sketch looked just like me. At first I thought it was funny the way people avoided me and wouldn't make eye contact, but after a while it got kinda weird. Eventually either they caught the guy or he moved on, I don't recall which, but the hullabaloo died down and life was back to normal.
Now, this evening, a man in a town 50 miles away tied up and beat 5 kids. The man they're looking for is white, short and stocky, has a goatee, and has long side burns. Hey, they just described me.
I have a feeling I'll be drawing some scrutiny as I go about my delivery route tommorow.

Oh, and I hope the police beat this man severly when they catch him.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Shave those side burns and they will never suspect you

Well, here we go again...

That's too bad, but at least it worked out OK.

I had a similar experience.

Once day I came home from work and as I walked in the door, my wife shoves a paper in my face and said "What the hell is this?". It was a notice from the state revenue department that they were going to garnish my wages for not paying a traffic ticket.

It took me all day to find some one to work thorugh the problem.

The lady told me I had been cited for riding a bicycle while intoxicated. Huh? Then she asked if my name was James Alex Henderson, "Uh no, it's James Allen". "Was I 5'8", 150 pounds" "Uh, no, 6'4" and too much over 240". "Was I black?", "uh, no, I'm White".

"sorry sir must have the wrong guy." So heck I didn't even match the description and I was in trouble.

Good Luck and don't let it get you down. We all look and or have the name of some criminal somewhere.

Thats funny!

Now that I think about it I was pulled over once because of a broken headlight. When the officer checked my ID my name, age, and description it turned out I was a close match to someone they wanted for assault. Luckily it was cleared up on the spot but I can imagine the hell something like this could lead to. I have no doubt that completly people have been executed via the death penalty due to mis-identification.

I wonder if the falsely accused and convicted feel more irony, hate, or fear at that last moment before death....

Well, here we go again...

The up-side to all of this is that at least we know the cops are trying to catch the bad guys, and that citizens are alert.

The prosecuter's office called me as a witness to an incident on the water, and I told them I hadn't been to the harbor in the previous month. They supposedly had a witness that spotted me and had turned in my hull number. He then lectured me on doing my duty, etc. I remained polite even after he threatened me with arrest, and I never did find out what was going on. RUDE.

Well, here we go again...

My son-in-law and his cousin were pulled over by the highway patrol.

I mean practically ran off the road, HP units with sirens blaring, lights flashing, brakes squealing, shotguns drawn, handguns drawn, cops screaming "SHOW ME YOUR HANDS" - "GET ON THE GROUND", OH ***** WHADWEDO pulled over.

They were cuffed (rather roughly at gun point while being held down), forced to kneel behind their truck (for roughly 30 minutes) and detained for over two hours.

It turns out, as they are inoccently going down the highway, a couple of bozo's who had the same physical charistics had robbed a convienence store (using a gun) and got away in a "dirty" white Nissan (My Son-in-law has a Light Tan Toyota).

It ended up taking a couple of hours to straighten it all out but they finally brought one of the clerks down from the convienence store and he cleared them.

That is one adventure that I hope I never have...

Well, here we go again...

I was getting a call from some county in wisconsin forever about a traffic ticket. They said I owed something like 600 bucks. I told the lady my name and it matched. I then told her I was in the military and have never driven in wisconsin. She said she would look into it and call me back. I told her not to call me back becasue she had the wrong person. After about three more calls they finally had figured it out. I think the age was differnent or something. My dad had a warant for his arrest becasue somebody else in Indiana had the same name as him and had committed some horrible crimes. He never got arrested but it took a while to sort that out. It makes you wonder how people can get so confused.

Well, here we go again...

A couple of months back the cops were out in force in our neighborhood, seems a little girl was missing from her grandparents house...Helicopters, door to door searchs, road blocks, residents the whole enchilada...

My son is dozing on the couch clueless, big knock on the door...two detectives standing there (no badge, ID or uniform)...

"We would like to look in your back yard, for a missing rock..."they say
Huh? my son replies..."I dont think so, Ill need to check with my Dad... "whats this all about?" he says

"Well since your not authorized to let us in, we are not authorized to tell you..." they say..then they leave

My son, being the cautious/careful young man that he is calls me at work...
"Huh?"...says I..."thats wierd"...So I call the local cop shop to get some answers...(ever try to find the non-emergency phone number?)...finally get an operator who tells me that actually there is a great big search for a missing girl...(Im thinking)...why didnt the cops say so in the first place and my son wouldve let them in...thats odd...
I get a name of a detective, to discuss this rock business...seems like a stupid ruse to check out my premises....
The dectective calls me back...

"Yes, since we were in the area looking for the little girl anyway I grabbed some open files to follow up on"...says the detective
"So your serious about the rock?...says I

"Yes, we've had a report that a person in a vehicle fitting the description of your truck inquired of the nieghbor about a large football sized river rock and if they'd be interested in selling it, a couple of days later the said rock came up missing..."says the detective

"A rock?...we talking about a rock? Who in their right mind would steal a rock...in Arizona, better yet who in the right mind would call the cops over a stolen rock, in arizona...???there are rock all over this godd**n state...says I

"I know..."says the detective

"hell, the company I work for sits smack dab in the middle of a thousand year old riverbed, If I want a stupid river rock I could get a whole truck load anytime I went to work, I certainly dont need to STEAL one"...says I
"go ahead and check my backyard"...says I

message received on voicemail when I get home that day..."thanks for your cooperation, this case is now officially closed"...says the detective.

ps...the little girl that was missing was taken by her mother, w/o the grandparents notice, I think they were found in tucson...
pps...my back yard is a cement patio...
