W/W sprayer not working

Hey guys. First time posting in the 6.7L side. Just traded in my F250 on a 2011 F350 Lariat. Love it. Period. Except that my windshield wiper sprayers will not work. I don't hear anything when I hit the button. No click or motor running. I can't figure out what fuse it is because I don't have an owners manual. I could use some help. Thanks.

Manuals are available online... Let me google that for you.

Owner Manuals | fleet.ford.com

You should have one handy... I hate not having one.

(btw - not being a smart azz.... just trying to help)

Wow. I couldn't find that on the internet to save my life. Is the sprayer use the same fuse or relay as the wipers? I don't see one specifically for the sprayer. The wipers work fine. Just won't spray. I don't even know how i would access the pump to hotwire it.

I'd have to read through the manual, but that wouldn't make sense if it was the same fuse for the wiper motor. It would mean a bad sprayer pump could take out your ability to use the wipers.

Let me see what I can come up with...

#25 and #31 under the hood fuse panels are relate to the wipers. I'd check both of those out first.

Next thing you need is the Coffee Table book for your year truck. As that will go into detail on where the pump is and how it works, etc... Assuming you don't have a blown fuse as your issue.

Just a thought....the nozzles on the hood have a tendency to get brittle and the nipple breaks off. Give a quick look to assure the hoses are still attached.

+1 on this.. the nozzle on my truck for the passenger side had this happen.. cheap plastic junk.. the one on my 2012 jeep did the same thing..

X2 on this. When they break, there is no pressure in the system, it is just pouring WW fluid onto the top of the engine. You can't hear it as it isn't being pressurized.

I didn't know that you wouldn't even hear it if they broke off... Nice to know. I usually check to make sure that those are connected and not dry rotted too...

In our winters, the spray tips get frozen up with ice, but since I started putting the -40F rated fluid in, it hasn't been an issue (and I could still hear the pump trying)

All good things to try - to the OP, please let us know what it was.

I had to replace the two nozzles because they lost their "oomph" - just sprayed without much enthusiasm. Once replaced, they were back to normal. I think it had something to do with the springs inside of them?

Actually, my thought would be the button switch itself. Ours failed on our 2011 F-150. It would work OK in the summer, but in colder weather it would not operate the washer pump.

The solution was a new switch (you have to buy the whole turn signal stalk) but it was only about $25-30 and you can install it yourself.

Ok guys so heres what I found out so far. Sorry about the late response but the wife is out of town and my two boys keep me busy. I checked the fuses. The one with the orange cover is good. I can see the leads are good. I don't know how to test the other relay without replacing it. No a huge deal but i don't have one handy. I checked the hoses and nozzles. the connections don't seem the best but i disconnected them and tried the sprayer again with no luck. I pushed the button at different angles and wiggled the stick at the same time. I pushed the button.....not so gently and still nothing. No sound of the pump or click of a relay. Im kind of leaning toward the stick but do i shell out $30 if thats not it? ideas?

JD - I have bad luck playing parts changer. If I bought the switch, it would be the pump, if I bought the pump it would be the switch. If I bought both it would be the relay. Although there are ways to test the relay. IIRC, autozone or pepboys might be able to test it for you. I would call before I drove down there though....

Do you happen to have Forscan and a bluetooth OBD adapater handy?

I dont have any scan capabilities or even know what the options are. The truck is still fairly new to me. Im thinking maybe the stick because if it were the pump, the wipers would still move when i pushed the sprayer button. Nothing happens. Like its not getting the signal at all. If the wipers moved, i would think pump.
