I love my new 00 Exp EB, but something is killing me with the power features. Every time I get back in, I have to reset several power features. Is this normal, or should I have it checked out?
Power adjustable pedals move all the way back up
Power seats moves forward a bit (from all the way back)
The power driver's side mirror moves slightly to the right
I'm not sure but maybe your truck has the memory feature that saves the way you adjust mirrors, seat, pedals. It is supposed to save up to two or three settings. Really don't know much about it but I think it is based on the remote control that opens the truck. Every remote saves a driver setting. Check your manual to see how you can re-configure this...
Yes, I have two memory settings. What I will do, before I write more, is this:
Turn my car off. Stay in it, wait a bit. Lock it by remote. Wait. Unlock it by remote. And note WHEN the features move. Cause I think that affects the answers to my question. Will add more later, thanks!
Check in you user manual how to re-program, set it to your likings. If you have a second remote, remember that it should be re-programed as well...
I would love to have this feature, wife is 5'4" and I'm 6'4". so everytime I drive I can't even sit on the driver's side until I move the seat all the way back standing next to it!
Like the others have said, you do have memory settings for the power features. The memory controls the mirrors, the seat positions, and the pedals. My grandmother just bought a new buick, and the memory on that car controls your radio presets, door locking preferances, and much more. The expy will hold 3 settings. Buttons 1, and 2 are each a setting, and then if you press 1&2 together, that is the 3rd setting. Check the users manual as to how to program it.
I don't know about the 00s, but I do remember the 03s having a problem with the software that controlled and memorized the electrical component positions.
Otherwise, your flux capacitor may be to blame - if you don't feed it enough organic matter & weapons grade plutonium it'll start acting up.
Thanks you guys! It was the remote problem. I would have never dreamed that the remote was keyed to the power memory feature. Problem solved, I appreciate the help! Now to find me some 20 inchers... LOL.
I have tried to set/reset the key pad control. There is a sequence of events common to MOST programming features, this works:
Ignition on
Power door unlock x3
Ignition off
Power door unlock x3
Ignition on
The park that doesn't work:
Power door unlock x2
Power lock x1
I have tried using DOOR power lock AND keypad lock for the second part of this. How do you complete this sequence? What, by definition is "power lock?"
