I've never seen an RV checked in Ca. Can't say it couldn't happen but even the state scales have signs posted "NO RV's"

It's only at mobile scale stops at places like outside Glamis. They look for big triaxle haulers like mine and little trucks like mine pulling them. Even that is pretty rare from what I hear.

My truck is registered @ 4499kg (9918lb) as over that the annual sticker goes up. For RV towing it's not an issue but if I hook up something else or load the bed then I'm overweight.
