Any recommendations for basic how-to literature? I have a '66 f100.
I had a Haynes repair manual for a vintage motorcycle that was really helpful for general maintenance and repairs. Haven't been able to find anything similar for my truck. The service manual seems pretty technical w minimal pics from what I've seen online. Where do the exploded parts diagrams come from?

They produced a shop manual every year just about. Now available in reprint or CD. The Motor manuals seem to be the best of the generalized aftermarket repair books. I don't know how often those came out, they seem really good for basic operation and troubleshooting.
The one thing about the Ford manuals is they assume that the mechanic is using Rotunda test gear, so for some electrical things ya kinda have to know what you're trying to accomplish.
