Weird pushrod

Weird pushrod
Got a 86 302 mustang motor to swap int my truck. When I went to check to make sure it had a roller cam I noticed the pushrods didnt look normal. All of them have this what I guess you would call a sleeve at the same spots on all of them. If you were to lay it flat on a table one end would remain in the air. Is this normal. What is its purpose? Sould it be towards the pushrod end or the lifter end?

Never seen a factory pushrod like that. The 86's heads (E6SE) have shorter valve stems because the valve pockets are deeper into the head than all other SBF heads, but the pushrods were the same length. Someone may have been into that motor since it was new and replaced the pushrods with an aftermarket set.
