That’s great that they fit perfectly PA74F250! Why did you have to make a new dipstick tube tho? Yeah the link belshe92 posted has them at $529.97. What’s the major difference between the Elite and the standard though? or why did you guys choose the Elite?
Thank you for the links belshe92. I’m hoping later down the line I will do a Cummins swap but don’t have the time or money for that yet.
HIO Silver I like that the Sanderson's don’t need a gasket and they are similar in price but what do the mid-length headers do differently besides being shorter?
Zemmeron thanks for your input I think that’s one of the main things I'm worried about. I’m hoping I don’t break any bolts but I know it will probably happen.
Have you guys had any issues with the started being too close to the new headers and burning out? I read in another thread that people have had that problem and that they have switched to a 60s or something mustang starter because it’s shorter than our stock one.
Also all my neighbors i've known for years so I don't think I'll get a brick through my window but I definitely don't want to get a ticket either.
I'm sorry I forgot to respond I mean to but then who knows. The dipstick deal I was thinking back to that and that was my fault not the headers. It was rusty and I didn't know. I'm still using the stock starter and no issues. I used that dark colored header wrap on the pipes that are close.
realistically long tubes overheating the starter is kinda moot with the ceramic coating and heavy gauge tubes. also if it looks like it might be an issue they have starter heat shields/ heat shield material. also last i looked if you do some shopping the cost of the mini isn't that much worse than a quality gigantor one, plus the benefits of quicker starts longer service life ect ect but either set of headers is a good choice.
Long tube headers will usually trap an OEM starter thus requiring the header to be loosened to "uncage" the starter and allow its removal.

HIO Silver do you have any videos of what they sound like? I've looked on YouTube but haven't found them for our truck. Also are you running a certain exhaust system off your Sandersons like a specific muffler or anything?
'Don't have a video but my system consists of the FF427 headers, round Magnaflow stainless mufflers, plumbed with 2.5-inch, mandrel bent tubing.
1+ year old thread but this looks like a good place to put pictures of the Sanderson FF427's I have installed on my 390 FE 4x4. Hopefully these are useful to those looking to do this in the future.
Here's the Sanderson FF427's with a standard size starter in place.
In order to get the mini starter to fit properly without hitting the engine block I had to rotate the mounting plate clockwise, so that the holes all the way to the left (holes counterclockwise to center) were used for the allen screws.
I also realized that I had to take the mounting plate off to mount the bottom bolt prior to installation because the bolt would not fit once the plate was tightened down. This made it a real pain to try to tighten down this bolt, so I decided against mounting it this way. I may put a bolt in from the bellhousing side with a nut on the starter side.
Here's the Sanderson FF427's with a Summit brand mini starter.
The starter stud is on the inside next to the engine, so a longer cable is needed to have enough distance to run up to the solenoid.
