Automatic to Manual conversion
I have a 1997 F250 4x4 Light Duty 5.4L truck with an automatic transmission. I am converting it to a manual. I have pulled the engine and rebuilding it. I decided that I should probably rework or change the automatic transmission. At this time I decided to change to a 5 speed manual transmission. I found the transmission, steering column, wiring harness, and I know that I will probably have to shorten one drive shaft and lengthen the other. The question I have is I need to cut a hole in the floorpan and I see an outline on the pan. Does anyone have an outline of the size of hole and how the boot fits around the hole? If anyone has done this I sure would appreciate any tips. I'm just starting to put the manual in the truck next week.
