Did you get the wire shields to go with them on the back of the lamp? They work together with the wire armor. The little tabs on the end bend in/around to hold the armor in place.
I had to cut mine to get the length I wanted. Then I put some tape on the metal edge where the wires may rub on the inside. The caps on mine were just on with some hot glue. I used a heat gun, removed the cap, cut the loom & reattached the cap
