I was told that the Econolines are the same chassis as the trucks.
Whoever told you that, has no idea what they are talking about. There are lift kits available for Econolines, but I have no experience with any of them.
There is no cheap or easy way to lift a van, and even if you lift it, the wheel wells will limit the size tire you can put on it so you need to cut those also. Nothing in common with pickups, not even wheel lug pattern.
Camburg Engineering does kits. I know nothing about Weldtec. Figure about 3 grand for the kit, plus installation, plus wheels and tires and incidentals. Lot of money to look cool in the mall parking lot
For the rear you can do a block lift or new leaf springs, the latter being better but more expensive. The front will require one of the kits mentioned above. Camburg and Weldtec seem to be the two favorites. As I mentioned in the other recent thread by FlyingJgas, I picked up a used Camburg kit. I'll post more about my experience once I get it installed.
