Hey all,
I read what people are doing to fix the slip joint problem. So what type of grease is recommended and what is the torque for the u-joint to differential interface?
I have the same problem in my 99 stroke sd, i believe you should use a good synthetic greese, and i think somebody said to torque the 8mm nuts to 26 pounds pressure, i'm going to do mine this weekend, i think i need to replace my carrier berring bushing also
good luck let me know how it turns out

Ford recommended a teflon grease, but could only sell me a huge container of it for $40.00. I went to a auto parts store and bought the best synthetic grease they had. I also think 26lbs is the correct torque.
What I was referring to is the lack of cooling of the a/c. You'll find the a/c much improved. With the temps running in the low 90's I usually run the a/c nearly off on the cool/warm graduated dial.
1 believe that is 26 foot pounds fordman102, I'm doing mine this weekend i'll let you know how it turns out. I am also replacing my carrier bearing, i'm getting alot of play in it around the rubber housing (bushing. I have heard that helps also
good luck
