Thanks guys! Some good news with the bonnet (er, Hood) hinge.
He did cave in when I sent a txt message to him telling him I will bring down the factory manual and show him. I bluffed, as I don't have a manual, but I think he realised I was being fair dinkum about it. Stone the bloody crows!
Glad to hear you finally got it sorted. I have been watching "Wheeler Dealers" on Velocity channel lately...it is a good show about two Brits who buy and refurbish cars to sell. Edd China is the mechanic, he really seems knowledgeable and has a great shop but what I really find interesting is the language. There are so many British terms used in the show that I have never heard used in the States, some are quaint and some are actually a better use of the language than the American dialect. What got me off on this tangent was your use of the term "Stone the bloody crows"...I had to look that up and I am still not sure exactly when/how it should be used bit it intrigues me. It must be a challenge for those FTE'ers who live in countries other than the US to decipher some of our language traits and slang even if it is all "English" at the root.

I have a friend that grew up in London. He now lives here. It's hilarious to hang out with him. If we go out for pints he will have everyone laughing so hard our faces hurt. It's just the terms and usage. He always says "Bob's your uncle". That's like us saying " and all that".
Back on topic, I'm sure glad we don't have Rego's here. What a pain in the ***.
