I just hooked up my SCT tuner to my 7.3L Excursion. Look familiar? These reading are not at all in line when I hooked up AutoEnginuity. I should have done this last night! But I'm a dumb a$$......I got the SCT for the 6.0L , didn't think it would connect to the 7.3L till I tried.
It's not your sensors or PCM- it's the SCT not getting it right.
Don't mean to totally bash the SCT tuner here. It does have some nice features, I can adjust the idle rpm's, change the shift points, do some data logging (on the PID's that work correctly) and load e-mailed custom tunes to it.
It would be awesome if it read the Baro & EBP sensors correctly........
Wow, WB! Thank you for that. It's okay with me if you bash SCT. If they say it should work with a 7.3 diesel, it should work. Period. I'm glad I already had it and didn't buy it specifically for this truck. Regardless, you've saved me a bunch of time and money. My bluetooth adapter for Torque Pro should show up today. I'll take a look at everything then. During this process, I've discovered a couple of different boost leaks. I also found the blown out EBP tube. So, bottom line, the end result is positive. And, I'm glad I didn't spend any more money.
No problem, that's what FTE is all about. We've all been in a similar situation when troubleshooting. I've been on this site for @ 10 years and I can't thank all the folks enough that helped me along the way.
Glad it got figured out before you went PCM shopping!
