clutch pedal issues......stranded again...help please
92 f-250 custom , 5.8 L, 5 spd.
OK..so I swapped transmissions this week, I took the slave cylinder. off the old trans and put it on the new one because
a) it's fairly new, and b) the connector for the hydraulic line appeared to be different than what I had on the truck.
I got it all buttoned up, and it drove like a dream. until...I was helping a buddy move and I drove up to the 5th level of his parking garage ( only mention this cause of the steep uphill incline and the possibility of air in the line moving up) everything was fine until the way back down I lost my clutch pedal. tried to bleed it on the spot to no avail. to make matters worse, I didn't tighten the bleeder enough and all the fluid ran out of the master. had it towed home, refilled the master and for the life of me cannot get it to flow through the line and out the bleeder again. the pedal pulls itself to the floor at about the halfway point, and it will snap back down if you let go of it any where between the floor and halfway. I disconnected the line from the slave thinking it would make the pedal stiff again, and it didn't. still the same. does this mean I have air in the line or in the master or both? should I replace them, pull the tyranny, and replace the slave too? I am so frustrated, and missing work. It was driving so great...I don't get it. somebody please talk my dumb@#$ through this! thanks in advance...
