Hello FTE-er's,
A sad day has come, I am looking to sell my 7.3. I am getting married and looking to buy a house. If you're from Northern CA, you'll understand that you literally have to choose between a truck or a house here. You can't have both unless you make a ton of money. For example, a 1bd/1ba apartment rents for $1500 a month here...at minimum. That being said, I wanted to get your opinions on the value of my truck. I've got a 2000 F250 Superduty. Has the 7.3L with 130k original miles. The truck is virtually in perfect shape. Interior is 7/10. Exterior is 7/10. No known issues and it runs like a champ. It is 4wd and has the off road package. New all terrain tires. I have a new turbo on it (GTP38r). New torque converter. New up pipes and tons of other stuff but that's the major stuff. Overall, it's a great truck and would be very comfortable saying it's a great example of a 7.3. My guess would be that it's worth about $13k since the mileage is so low. But...before I'm stupid and list it for below market value, what do you guys think it's worth?
I'd say 13 is reasonable. I bought my 2000 f250 lariat 4x4 with 4 inches of lift, 4 inch exhaust, and after market radio for $8500. (Interior 8/10, body 8/10, freshly rebuilt transmission, and all paperwork for any work done since brand new) but it had 450k miles when purchased.
I paid $20K out the door in Sacramento (flew there to get it) 1 1/2 years ago to get it from So. CA. REally clean with 138K, pedestal gauges (EGT, Trans temp, and and Boost), Diff cooling cover, camper shell to match, (Forest Green), 4x4 CC Lariat, 4" SS exhaust no Catalytic Converter.
Small dealer would not budge a nickel.
I figure my next rig to be a golf cart or a wheel chair. Go figure. I love mine.
I would rather live in my 7.3 than part with it. These trucks come along once in a lifetime. Sorry you are having to part with it, you will miss it!!!!

Ha! I would live in it but my future wife would have something to say about that!!
Mine is slowly being ate away by Michigan winters. Runs great but may have to just leave the plow on it and put it away for the 1 day it's not nice out.

Denny
Hey Denny, I am leaving my house right now to leave town for the weekend. When I get back on Sunday evening I WILL take pics. Don't worry, it's not going anywhere and I'll get back to you soon.

Hey Josh...just keep in mind FTE guys are serious and quick when looking at vehicles. Don't delay or you might get stuck with a Craigs List low-baller.
I was on the buying side last time and the stories the seller told about people who called...

Good luck to you both!
Thank you for the advice! That is something I didn't know. I'm sure Denny and I will be talking.
If you're asking for advice....... I have been married 30 years and have three daughters. Along the way I had three Golden Retrievers. Here is my advice...
Keep the Truck, Get a Dog, and never look back. You'll thank me someday!
Not sure what part of ca you are in. Im in sac and paid 14900 for mine with 121k on it, drove to idaho for that price. Dealer down street wants 18-20k for a truck like yours with similar mileage.
On a side note if your in bay area have you considered looking for housing in sacramento? Housing is allot less and there is the capitol corridor train between sac and the bay area. Takes about the same amount of time as driving.
Either way, congrads on the wedding Ive told my current girlfriend that there is a 5 year rule before going there...we have made it two so far
I feel the pain. I had to sell my Boss 302 to buy my house in San Jose a year ago. On the bright side, I made enough in equity to buy 4 more Boss 302's LOL.
