Ford! I have a 1973 F100 2WD. The brake pedal works okay as far as stoping goes, but when I start moveing again I have to pull the pedal up with my foot. Is the problem my Master Cylinder or in the pedal it self?
I'm not sure if this will help, but... when I took my F-150 4x2 out of storage (after two years of being untouched) my brake pedal was sticking down. I found it was hanging up inside the power brake booster. After going under the hood and spraying the seal on the backside of the booster and the rod going into it with lube a few times, working the pedal back and forth, it started to work fine. The pedal and the master cylinder are not directly connected, so if you are having to pull the pedal back, the problem should be between the booster and the pedal. Good luck.
When the brake was sticking on my truck it was the linkage between the pedal and the booster. If you look behind the booster you can see the linkage, hose it down with some good lube. Add an assist pedal return (screen door spring) to help pull up. Whithin a week the thing should work fine without the extra spring
