Greetings All,
I have recently bought a 95 F250 with an International A215 7.3L that was parked 7 years ago after it was hit on the bed. All I've done so far is new batteries, fuel filter, and glow plugs. I can get fuel into the filter housing but I cant seem to get it to fire. Does anybody know where I can find info on priming one of these? I tried Google but I keep coming up the wrong info.
Welcome to the Ford Trucks OBS forums! If you are getting the fuel bowl to fill by cranking the engine, there is no need to prime. When you first turn the key, are you getting a wait to start light in the dash? If not , check the under hood fuse panel, fuse #22. That fuse powers the PCM, and if it is blown, you can crank the engine all day and it will never start. If it is blown, unplug the fuel bowl heater, as it is known to short out and blow that fuse. Do you see any smoke from the tail pipe while cranking? Setting for that long, check the wiring for critters chewing on the wires. There are several sensors that are critical for the engine to fire.
Thanks for the replies.
I'm an engineer on a fishing boat, we have Cummings mains and John Deere gen sets, I had to Google HPOP.... Dry as a bone. Filled it up, bleed the lines and refilled it. Started right up. I feel a little ashamed of myself.
Anyway now I can start on some new sheet metal
