Just got back from a trip and while away two days before leaving for home I started to get a buzz/whine from the front end area (sounded like it had monster tires on it) I thought I had been noticing a grease smell every once and a while but nothing major.
The buzz/whine was in the warmer climate but would go away after driving for a bit and it is non existent since getting back to the cooler temps.
Could this be the CV shafts? there does seem to be some leakage near all the bolt of the CV's
