Nice truck! Seems odd the tank is in such rough condition.

From his description it might not be the cream puff it looks like. Not that it's in any way bad, just not the untouched original survivor it looks like in the photos. It's pretty humid in the carolinas, not like some of the stuff that comes outa Nevada or Arizona, that's all...

It could have had a bunch of crud sitting around the sending unit for decades, so it rotted only there. I'd replace the whole tank just to be sure.

That is a great truck, little tinkering here and there and it looks like you'll have a nice ride.
