I am sure this has been asked several times before but needing some help.
Can one run 235/75/15 tires all the way around on a 51 F1?
Pictures or options appreciated.
Thanks
that is the size tire I will be putting on mine. I have seen it on some other members truck and it seems fine. I think it does depend on how much the front end is dropped and wheel offset. I don't have specifics on that's stuff yet though.
At stock height there should not be an issue. These are 235/75r15 in the rear. Being lowered, I can not run that size in the front. I tried & it rubbed a lot!
Does anybody know if a set of 8.00 R15 might work on the truck? I found a set that the current owner states did not fit his Caddy and is dumping them dirt cheap.
Thanks
The reason I ask is I have a set of rollers I'm using that has that size of tire on them and they are 6 inch wide rims and the tires bulge out an 1 1/2" past the rim , wold an 8 inch rim be more suited to this tire. I'm thinking of just running with stock fenders and don't think they will handle much more than a 9 inch wide tire. How close can you safely run a tire to the side of the box without fear of rubbing.
The Tire and Rim Association books show a 235/75R15" tire is designed for a 6.50" rim and approved for use on rims between 6.00" and 8.50". Looking through several books there is no 8.00" x 15" tire. Could they really be 8.25"? Stu
You're really going to want power steering. They're o.k. driving but parking will be a bear. 6.00x16 bias ply hoops weren't too bad but even 215 radials will give you Popeye arms if you do much downtown/close-quarters driving.

I have no problems with 235's. Yes, effort is high when at zero speed, but rolling even a little the effort drops way off.
