Valuing a Truck

What's the best resource to use to value a truck when buying (or selling) it... Hagerty has its valuation guide, but it seems to be a fair bit different than the values in the Nada Guides. Looking through Ebay sales is one option, but there aren't that many examples...

Thanks. Just trying to figure out if the price for a truck I'm looking at is fair.

I would check the local paper classifieds and craigslist. Look at what people are asking and what is staying listed. Ultimately it comes down to asking yourself, "Will I be happy with the truck?" That's all that really matters.

Yes the values very greatly depending on what part of the country you are in and the truck and how rare you think it is. I had a truck on CL for a few months and not much interest. then someone saw it and wanted the exact truck in the color combo it was and I sold it for asking price. So weather your buying or saling just try to see what they are listing for and go from there. I see some trucks on Evil bay that are listed for a lot of green but, probably couldnt build it for what it goes for if you had to go and purchase the truck and pay someone to do the work.

Those both are good advice... I feel location is everything, and in the NE I'm at a disadvantage because there's nothing up here. At the end of the day, if its a good solid truck that's been taken care of, it'll work out fine...
