02 AC compressor/clutch question.

i have never taken one of these units apart, just replace the compressor.
my 02 has a 6 month old compressor on it.
the belt tensioner failed and threw the belt ripping the electrical connection off the compressor. the resulting carnage means the AC now does not work unless the connector is placed and held just rite.
if i replace the clutch will it also come with a new connector, or do i need to replace the complete compressor and clutch?

You have to replace the coil in order to replace the connector. It's not an in-place repair, the compressor needs to be on the bench in order to get the clutch puller attached, then the replacement coil has to be pressed onto the compressor housing.

You're probably ahead of the game to simply replace the whole loaded compressor (again) unless you're comfortable pulling the whole thing out and swapping the coil. The coil is about $45 from Rockauto. You can buy a complete compressor kit from Rockauto for $150.
