F-350, 6.7L, 3.55 gears, 33 inch tires (275-70R 18) 4X4
Just got back from a 2,200 mile trip, 70 mph high way speed averaged 9.5 mpg for trip. Pulling 34ft fifth wheel trailer with a motorcycle trailer and a touring HD motorcycle. Estimate 15K.
1997 4.10 gearing auto, SCLB F350 dually, pretty much completely stock. I get better milage towing than empty...
towing 4.5K w/uhaul trailer ~16.8 MPG at last measure
empty, not sure, maybe 12 or 13
Reason seems to be all about RPMs, I go 55-60 with the trailer and get good mileage. Without the trailer I do 74-80 and get crap milage. That said though, I am wondering why I don't do better unloaded.
Well for the few tanks I was driving, I managed to get about 17 to 17.5. That's been on probably 6 or 7 cylinders the whole time though (due to worn injectors.)
I should have the money to send my injectors to Jim soon. I'm wondering how much better I'll get with all none worn out injectors and all 8 firing! Like I said earlier, I'd like to get about 20 average so I think that's probably doable!
