97 auto 4x4 cclb with 4:10 I average 17-19 mpg reliably. That's driving country roads to work and back 20 miles each way.

96 auto 2wd cclb dually 4.10 gear I got 15.5mpg on A fresh trans rebuild then I developed a fuel leak and have got 12-13. Work is 2.6 miles from home so not at all good for milage.

There is a guy with a bronco on here that has an IDI 7.3 in it. He is usually seeing mid to upper 20s with it. Has a ZF5 behind the motor

Dang that's pretty good! I don't know how IDIs compare to power strokes. Most info I've read is that people think the IDIs are dogs compared to the powerstroke, but people love the simplicity behind them. I wonder what the mileage difference is between them.

IDIs seem to get a little better mileage if they are timed right. They are cheap and easy to work on. My 90 f250 normally gets about 25 mpg highway as long as i keep my foot out of it and keep it around 55-60.

The guy with the bronco has a custom turbo and was seeing over 400 hp at the wheels

I have a '96 extended cab longbed which I've owned since new, 3.55 diff with auto, fiberglass campertop with 90 gallon aux fuel tank in bed, basically stock except for Tymar intake and 3" downpipe, used for hauling and towing on the highway.

Without wind influence on flat highways, I can depend on:

@55 mph no tow = 23 mpg

@70 mph no tow = 21 mpg

@55 mph towing a 6K Jayfeather travel trailer = 14 mpg.

I would have to see the dyno chart to believe he is getting 400hp from an IDI.

City driving its about 17 consistently. I have seen as high as 22.6 on a single tank of fuel. Towing anything over 15k its about 8-10, highway with no wind I have seen 11-12... but there is always wind...

Mileage got better with mods...go figure...

Truck curb weight is without fuel or me is 8100lbs, 8550 without the auxilary tank filled. zf5 and 4.10s on 285/75/16s

single cab f350 srw 4x4 zf5 4.10's 15/18 before I pulled the motor. It'll get around 5-8 when I'm done.

Two '95s, one RCLB one SCLB, both 5-speed 4x4 3.55s, 6637s, stock size tires. Anywhere from 17-22 running light; there's almost always 500-1000 lb in the bed. Two major variables are weather and speed. Mileage falls off a cliff when I drive steady above 2000 RPM.

Only time I towed about 10k, I got about 15.
