Brake Controller Connection Issues

I just purchased a Prodigy controller in order to tow a friends car trailer. I bought my '94 F250 used and it came with the tow package. I purchased the Ford wiring harness and plugged it all in. I get a "n.c." display on the controller even though the trailer is plugged in. The trailer light all work and the brakes work when attached to other vehicles with other controllers. How can I trouble shoot the tow package plug under the dash to make sure it is all wired correctly. The connector was under the very center of the dash (i.e. over tranny hump). I assume this is the right one. Help!! I need to use the trailer this weekend to pick up my father's car that died.

Sorry, The "n.c." display means that the trailer is not attached. (as per the Tekonsha instruction manual)

Brake Controller Connection Issues

I'm not too familiar with the newer model trucks that are pre-wired for brake controllers. But I do believe there is also a relay required which needs to be plugged into a slot in order for the harness to work.

If nobody replys with the specific relay required and it's location, then go to your Ford dealer and ask the service writer to show you where it goes. Then go to the parts counter and buy the relay and put it in.

Brake Controller Connection Issues

I was told everything after 97 was prewired. My 2002 F150 I paid the camper dealer to install the controller (tekonsha) My 2003 Supercrew had the same connector as the 2002 already installed and I just unplugged it and plugged it into the 2003 and it worked perfectly. \
Would suggest you look at the tekonsha wiring diagram and see if you need to add something or as suggested by another poster, go see Uncle Ford dealer

Good luck

Steve
