I bought a 89' F-150 2x4 from the county government that my father-in-law works for (he was the fleet administrator). He said they had pulled all sorts of trailers with it , but i can only find a wire connector that has one(1) wire (sort of a pigtail connector).Has anyone ever seen one?
My question is how do i go about changing that connector to a more standard connector(lets say a four wire connector).
Thanks ,William in florida 89' Ford F-150 in-line six.
Its a single red wire. Is that the normal requirements for hauling a trailer? Im actually new to the trailer bit. Brakes, turn sigs, ground? What about running lights? William in Florida
Usually for a 4 wire setup the wires are Green, Yellow, White and Brown. The White is the Ground wire, Brown is your Tail lights, Yellow and Green are the stop and turn. Good Luck!
That wasnt very clear. The Yellow and Green are the Stop and Turn wires. I think that Yellow is the drivers side and Green is the passenger. (I cant remember off the top of my head). They use only one wire for the Brake lights and turn signals since they both light the brightest Bulb. Hope this helps.
