I had one contractor come in 2000 dollars less then the others-- don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

My wife is thinking the guy doesn't know what he is doing- so he will rip us off- or something if/when he does the job.

We had similar differences when we had a quote to have a spot for the pool poured in the back yard.
Biggest problem is we called 6 contractors, two called back, gave a quote, but never returned the calls afterwards.

When I talked with a contractor, he said 75% of the bids they give out never come back as business. He loses $ with every bid he gives, so he gives fewer bids and still makes good $$.

Well I got a name of a concrete guy who is supposed to be really good-- I went and checked out the several places he gave as references-- looks like good work (neat and all) WHEN I get his quote back we will make a rescission. Then clean out the garage.

When my mom took her car to the stealership to get an estimate; it cost 167; just for the estimate. When I took it to an indy, they charged $8. Guess who got the our business?
