F150 351W rebuilt with WP(World Product) Windsor heads, flat pistons, stock EFI with computer friendly cam. Wonder if a bigger throttle body would help and MSD ignition?? If I go with a bigger throttle body is there any where I can have meatle hose made bettwen air filter and throttle body, to replace rubber hoses?? Also any computer upgrades that would help??
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 31-Jan-02 AT 10:55 PM (EST)]A bigger throttle body is not a good bang for your buck item.
They are upwards of $375 bucks for a few HP.
But I think you may get more power from a throttle body because of your upgrades.
For the metal hoses go to an exhaust shop and pick up some scrap exhaust pipe, the stuff that was bent wrong or not the right length, make sure is the right length and diameter, you will still need a good amount of hose attached to each end for engine movement, and so you can just plain hook it up. I don’t think any one makes a kit with metal hoses.
Get the MSD ignition and coil, it is the best upgrade you can do to an engine.
A computer may help if you are having a rough idle and just want it to run better, but it will give you a power increase too.
I would stay away from the throttle body until a mass air conversion is done. I would suggest the MSD system, K&N filter (hold off on this if you ever plan on doing a mass air conv.) and headers!
