The Power Steering switch plug was only on the 5.0L harness and if your truck was a 5.0L then you should have the switch down near the Power Steering box.
That would mean you have a 5.0L harness if that is what the plug is.

The original engine was a 5.0L and I am re using the accessories and there is no switch on the pump or the original harness. This harness was suppose to be from a 5.8L. So I guess we have a mystery. There is a visible difference in the width at the back of the harness so I assumed he was correct. Where exactly will the switch be because I looked all over and didnt see anything. Is it on the line or on the pump itself. I cant see this plug being long enough to get anywhere past the top of the power steering pump.

I am about half tempted to tear the top end apart and put the original harness on. Its in pretty bad shape and caked in oil but if all the plugs match up I may be better off. I now without a doubt it does not have this plug on it though because I went and re traced it all to verify after I found this plug.

The next riddle is that looking on rockauto all of the PS pressure switch connectors for most every year of F150 I have looked at looks like this. Not even close to what my plug looks like. My rabbit hole just keeps getting deeper.

Used on vehicles using R134a A/C systems (1994 and up). It's a switch on the compressor/pressure line.

Hmm. SO that looks like it except its 4 wire and mine is 2 but maybe different years were wires differently?? Still makes me wonder if this is a Mass air engine harness. Not sure if would make any difference though.

My diagram shows only two wires are used on a 1994 F-Series. If the harness is for a MAF truck, it's very different. On the brighter side most 5.8L trucks did not got MAF until 1995.

I will get the wire colors when I get home. This is really bugging me. What exactly would be different on the MAF engine harness. I know it would have a maf connector but does that come out of the engine harness or does that part plug in somewhere else. Although I am guessing my Air temp sensor would be somewhere other than #6 on the intake. I really need to solve this mystery before I can track down why the truck isnt running right and why all the gauges are whacked out.

It is the Hi-PSI AC cut-off switch.

On my '95, 351, I just looked at in the garage, it only has 2 wires for that switch, not sure why the replacement switch on RockAuto shows 4 wires.
The colors are Orange/Green.

The replacement switch could be for other models as well, but our vintage trucks only use 2.

If you want a pic, lemme know.

And from what I can tell that switch is right on the block on the back of the A/C compressor which is right where this wire looks like it should go. I still need to verify that this harness is for Speed Density somehow. It kind of points both ways.

The books say 4 wires but I just looked at my 1995 and it is has a 4 pin plug but it only has 2 wires hooked to it.

That has to be it then and the location fits. I assume since my truck was not equipped with this then it doesnt matter if its plugged in or not. I am just worried that something else may be pissing off the truck because the harness came from a newer truck. I know something has it acting crazy.

If it had the IAT plug at the engine intake runner then the harness has to be a 1993 or older harness.
That would make it an SD harness.

The only problem with that is the first high pressure switch was on the 1994 truck.

And I have been doing some searching for pictures of a 95-96 intake and the ones I keep finding look like they still have the temp switch on #6 so maybe they used both? I cant find definitive proof that I have a speed density harness. I need to see one that shows where the mass air stuff ties in and that may prove it but I am almost thinking that is coming straight from the PCM and not the engine harness. I have a sinking suspicion that the engine harness looks visually the same for the most part.

Found this on ebay though from a 1995 5.0L F150. It kind of answers the question about the mass air wiring. It does not appear to be on the engine harness, however the plug I am asking about is red like the one pictured further up the thread and mine is black. So why the different colors of plastic? And what I dont see on this harness is the IAT sensor near #6. What the hell is my harness from. lol.. Maybe that one year of truck that had the pressure sensor but no mass air yet? If so thats fine with me, I need the SD harness but that begs the question again, of why my gauges are whacked out and why the engine only runs for a few minutes then cuts off.
