Air Line Size from Filter?

Group
I just got done plumbing in my new 7hp 65 gal Air compressor
I plumbed the air with 1/2" black pipe, which goes into my
regulator/air drier, but then coming out of the drier is
only 1/4" pipe threads... DOes this seem to small??
It seems like a lot more air going in but will have a hard time out?? Or should i put and adapter on it and go bigger out?
If so how big?

You've already restricted the airflow with that 1/4" outlet filter. If you need more air volume they make filters with larger ports. My system at home is piped entirely with 3/4" galv. pipe and the filter, water separator, and the desecant drier for the paint gun, are all 3/4" in and out.
Increasing the line size after a 1/4" outlet will have almost no effect on the volume of air you will receive at the end of the line.

The regulator restricts a lot of the flow. I only use a regulator for a paint gun station. I run a filter only on the output of the tank.

There is a lot more info on piping systems, dry air, lubrication, and equipment, in other topics here that can be found with the search function.

It sounds like Lariat has a good setup.

If you are going to run those little 1/4" fittings that everyone runs then the 1/4" regualator will work just fine...

Now, if you are going to use the real fittings that flow air, I would go to a 1/2" regulaotr and at least 3/8" hoses...

My Opinion...
