well.........
my starter just clicks. ive had a spare for quite some time now. so I decided to put it in after work. I got under the truck and dropped the starter out no problem. then the ADD kicked in. oh look at those up pipes. it will be so much easier to change them without the starter in. bottom bolt on the manifold came out quick and easy. here I go thinking this is going to be quick and easy. oh look at all that dirt on the oil pan.....then I ended up pulling the pass inner fender out to get the other bolt out. next was the driver side. those came out fairly easy. next was the spider and turbo.... that clamp on the baby butt got called a lot of words today. I finally got the turbo out after a good hour or so fighting it. I have a new compressor wheel to go in when it all goes back together.
on the turbo pedestal there is what looks like a bolt that sticks out the side. I think I broke it and I took my hpx out to get the turbo out and think I twisted the tube on it too.
other than a new hpx what else should I replace while I'm in here?
I have bellowed up pipes and a spx billet wheel to go in.
Nope, you don't unless you ever want to use it as an exhaust brake. It does help it warm up quicker but I doubt you need it for that in the deep south. Is it an e99 or L99.
OK. Could you take a picture and post it so that we can make sure that someone did not put a L99 lower end in and use the e99 upper parts...spider, plenums, collector, turbo, pedestal.
