2003 Explorer howling/whine from rear between 60-70 mph
My 2003 XLT with the 4.0 makes a rather loud howl or whine between 60 and 70 mph, seemingly coming from the rear of the vehicle. It is a 4WD model with 169,500 miles on it.
I did have the right rear wheel bearing replaced a couple months ago. The previous owner claimed he changed the rear differential fluid last year at some point.
Any thoughts what this could be? It's kind of annoying when driving out on the highway.
