Wide open throttle, or in diesel terms foot-through-the-floor!

See, not all trucks are the same for sure. Mine and Glenn's aren't much different, but I pull a 5 1/2% grade at 70mph and 40psi boost in overdrive, 1200*egt's. If I hit it less than 70 I'm down into drive to keep egt's in check. More than 70 and I'm good. That's pulling my 48' 17k trailer.

It took me a lot of work and probably too much money in most peoples opinion, but I am really happy how my truck works.

haha, I did knock on my head! Unless you meant the 80mph run at the hills? Over the years though I've had so much tire problems I have limited myself to 65mph, hate that. I think that's why my old 5er is not selling because of the wheel well damage caused by flats. I don't even call them flats, explosion is more like it. Its like someone holds a shot gun up to your ear, when it goes off there is no thought in your mind if you had a flat or not. Darn China shi!. I bought insurance on my new to me 5er.

Well took the bobcat back this evening and took you all's advice and kept the rpm's up and it went much better. Even though I did cringe a little when the rpm's got close to 3k, she did pull Alot better. Asked the ace manager how much the trailer weighed and it was quite a bit more than I thought. Bobcat and trailer put it in the 14k-15k lbs range. So no wonder my truck knew it was back there. Now I don't feel as disappointed.

I was taking about dropping Pistons. Lol

My dad just ordered an executive suite custom build with triple axle with air ride. They sold their big house then bought a little 2 bedroom and they are going to start traveling.

I would not sweat 3000 RPM. Shoot, they put C6s (no OD) behind some of the U-Haul versions of these trucks, and often with diffs geared even higher than 4.10 (4.63, was it?). So those would be running at 3000 all day on the Interstate. Hauling those kind of loads with any regularity, however, EGT and TT gauges would be in order.

haha, don't want any 'peak a boo' like I refered to your picture. I swore I would get triple axle this time but this Mobile Suites was to nice to pass up. Never heard of air ride on a 5er. Axles and Mor/ryde is what I know. I want to convert my new one to Mor/ryde like I did on my last one, really helped the flat tire problem. Unless you mean the hitch like I have or a pin box air ride?

That is really heavy for a skid steer and a trailer. What model skid was it? Or was it an excavator?

it was a bobcat t550. Operating weight is 7600 lbs. It had a real heavy duty trailer. I guessed the trailer at 3000 lbs. But the ace manager said it was actually closer to the same weight as the bobcat.

Did it look similar to the Thomas skid loader on this picture

Iirc it weighted in the neighborhood of 7500lbs including fork shovel and fork adapter and 2500lbs trailer, with the my mods it fell like there was nothing back there, on a 6% hill egts were at 1100 going 65-70 and at wot it pushed you back on the seat, my helper for the day was astound on how well my old truck pull.

Hard to tell from the pic. But the trailer was definitely a lot more hefty. It was probably rated for a small dozer.

Learn something new every day, never heard of that system. What kind of 5er is that, executive suite?
