Steering shaft coupler?

I need to replace this coupler on my '83 f150 4x4. The part has too much play and I want to buy a new one but I can't find a listing for it anywhere.

I looked on rockauto and ebay but could not match it up with anything.

What's it called and where can I find one?

Thanks

Look up: Steering Shaft "Rag Joint".
Here's an example:

It's not the rag joint, I already replaced that down by the steering box.

This is almost like a cv joint that used to have a rubber boot on it and is filled with grease.

It looks like this but the stated application for this item is first generation broncos and 1970s F100 4x4

I can't find anything like this for a 1983 f150 4x4

You might have to replace the entire shaft. I put this Borgeson in my F-250 last fall.
Amazon.com: Borgeson 000985 Steering Shaft: Automotive Amazon.com: Borgeson 000985 Steering Shaft: Automotive

It's a nice upgrade, steering is much tighter and less vibration through the steering wheel.

You have to replace the whole shaft, I did one on a customer truck same one I am putting the 5.0 Coyote in. Its a slip joint style shaft that collapses and it has a "u-joint" up at the top where it fits onto the column output shaft.

One of two things you can do, first is you can buy the more modern style one that LMC sells for $360 or you can do like we did at work and take to ebay, we found one in excellent condition for just $80 including shipping.

I personally would take to looking on ebay unless you want new. Mine is about like yours but I don't replace it as I cant justify spending $360 for the new U joint style system from LMC and I cant justify spending money on a used piece that is no different than mine other than not having a torn boot but is probably just as worn as mine is.

Here you go.

https://www.npdlink.com/store/produc...106-60218.html

I did a search on NPD as they tend to have quite a bit more stuff for our trucks than LMC does and they actually sell the shaft minus the rag joint for $100.

Too bad I don't have the cash I would buy this for mine.
