Do you have an afpr? That thing is going to need a lot of fuel. I would install the biggest one you can find.

ok dumb question, what is an afpr? I have a Mallory fuel pump on it now, I think its 140 gph but I cant remember and the truck is at the paint shop for another couple days. when I built the truck 20 yrs ago, the fuel set up was plenty. looking at todays prices kinda shocked me though. lol. I wasn't really sure I needed a $400 pump reg combo. I don't want to short change myself but I don't want to spend money somewhere unnecessary either.

thanks

oh ok duh. lol. yes it is adjustable . the problem is it is not stable, its anywhere from 2-12 and back again. it sounds like a reg problem but I don't know if a bad pump could be giving the same irregularities . it will run though so it is pumping something, it just runs bad. and yes it is a carbed motor.

the whole story is that it has been at this paint and body shop for almost 4 yrs. and these $#%%@$#@ kept putting ethanol in it and letting it sit. the tank was at least half full of water. they burned the starter up trying to crank it on that crap and GOD knows what else may be wrong.

I thought about replacing everything from the fuel pump to the carb on my big block and just be done with it but dang that's a chunk of money.
