1976 speed control help

I am needing some help. I have a 1976 f250 with the factory speed control. The po took off the horn pad and was unable to find it. What are my options? Does any one have a horn pad for sale. Is finding a 78-79 coloum a option that will work. Any help would be great.

You'll want to post in the classified ads section of the forum or under the WTB (want to buy) section of the marketplace. I'm sure someone there will be able to hook you up with what you need. Because you're a new member, you might have to make a couple of posts first before you're able to post in the classifieds though... its either 3 or 5 posts if I remember correctly. You could try joining your local state chapter and checking with those guys as well.

I wouldn't waste your time replacing an entire column if all you're missing is the horn pad.

There are used ones out there somewhere. But as far as a 76 horn pad with cruise and a 78/79 horn pad being used in it place, pretty sure that is a no.

73-early 77 had a smaller style horn pad insert. 78/79 is way bigger and will not fit in the early steering wheel horn pad groove.

Thanks for the input. I think I figured out why the po took it apart. The brake lights have power threw the turn sign switch don't they? I have no power at the brake light switch. He had a jumper wire stuffed in the switch. Even that doesn't make the brake lights work correctly.

Just shipping. Shouldn't be much. I'm out of town until Friday, so it'll be Saturday before I can get it out to you.

Horn pad, T/S switch and steering wheel with factory installed Speed Control: 1975/77 F100/350 & Econoline, both available from Carpenter.

The factory horn pad included the Speed Control switches (9C888 in pic), also sold by themselves.

1978/79 parts are not the same!

Update. Got brake lights working. Need to get dash working now. Only seat belt light working. It's just sad that the PO let the truck just sit and rot. I tried to buy it 15 years ago but he wasn't ready to let it go.

I looked around on their website couldn't find one with factory speed control? Did they stop making them?
