Its odd that after you wait the 10 minute time frame it will start up and not give you issues for the rest of the day. Oftentimes when faulty electrical parts get hot they will cause problems but will continue to cause problems when they get hot again. Was the engine doing this before you replaced all those electrical parts?

When the engine cuts out, have you tried restarting it again with the accelerator all the way to the floor? (As you would do to a flooded engine) Just curious whether it would or not as this might lead to the conclusion of whether it is an electrical or fuel related problem.

Figured it out... Changed out the Dizzy complete and wala!! All is good so my assumption is that the pickup coil was on the fritz.

Glad you finally got it worked out before complete frustration set in !

I wondered if the pickup coil was loose but didn't say anything. The only pickup coil issue I've ever had issues with was one rattling around in the distributor and caused severe backfiring upon deceleration.

Your experience has added to my troubleshooting think tank! Thank you for that.

I inspected the coil and didn't notice any visible issues other than the metal clip on the back was slightly disengaged but the pickup did not move at all and typical discoloration of the white area surrounding the metal pickup. I was installing the new pickup and locked everything down when I started it and got no mechanical advance. So I removed everything untill I got to the plate to check on the mech advance springs and could get the screw under the pickup out (Stripped). So sweet talked the Mrs and got a whole new dizzy. So theoretically it could have been something to do with the advance also. Possibly getting stuck in timing retard. IDK
