Driving along in the rain yesterday, my wipers stopped in mid-sweep for no appearant reason. I proceed to check to see if a different speed or perhaps the intermettent might work....NADA, so I shut them off at the switch; still at mid-sweep. Maybe 5 minutes later, they come back on and stop at the park position. It had stopped raining at that point so I left it off. Have tried them a couple times since and they seem to be fine now, but I'd really like to be able to depend on my wipers, ya know? Anyone had this malady occur before? Any suggestions on a solution? Thanx in advance..... BTV
sounds like for some reason the circut breaker was tripped try and think what else you were running at the time is there anything added to that circut that could have overloaded it. i would not worry about it too much i have popped my breaker a few times just because of ice build up .... just let me know what you find out thanks
When mine did that is was the motor stalling out when it got heated up. Don't make the mistake a fellow I talked to did, he spent most of a day trying to get the screw out of the linkage arm on the back of the n motor off, he was determined not to take the cowl off. When I doe mine It didn't talk but about 30 min, taking care not to scratch paint taking the cowl off. If that bothers you, tape up the edge of the hood and cowl with masking tape before you attemp to lift it up and out.
Thanx for the responses guys! So, is the consensus replace the wiper motor? I ain't skeerd of pullin' the cowl.... I've had the arms off several times for one reason or another so that's no issue.
I definately appreciate the input! Thanx BTV
