How to remove headlamp switch?

I got a new headlamp switch for my 2016 SD. I have the XL work truck with no fog lights. I recently added fog lights and an OEM fog light wire harness. I also got an OEM switch that pulls out to activate the fig lights because the stock switch in my truck operates the headlamps only. What I can't figure out is how to remove the switch. Any help is appreciated.

Here's a photo of the new switch:

Can you get the small "L" shaped tool in the stereo removal kit
to slip under the edge and compress the clip?

No, the stereo tool is too big, but I might be able to make something from a soda can.

I am thinking that your are going to need something more
like spring steel Vs a pop can. If you could find a bit of 1/4"~3/9"
of thin spring steel. Then bend a "L" on the end and see if you can
tuck the end under the edge and press the clip in to release if from
the bezel. It may it turns out I am incorrect on this.

My truck is a 2014, so I don't know if the switches have changed enough for this information to be useful or not.
The whole panel containing the switch pops out:

Then there appear to be 3 tabs that you push in, and the switch comes out through the front of the panel:

I used a small flat blade screwdriver to pop the switch panel out. Go gently, there are some plastic tabs on the back you won't want to snap. As the pic shows, one on each corner of the top. You'll probably want to come in from the top and do one side, then the other.

What was involved and how much did you have to spend for this factory fog light deal?
My XLT didn't come with fog lights, but I've been considering adding them some day down the road.
Have also been considering daytime running lights for the LED/halo component of my new headlights when they arrive in a week or so. Anyone added DRL to a truck that didn't come with them? Would I need a different switch and/or dealer reflash to accomplish this?

I ordered the fog lights with an aftermarket wire harness/relay/switch on eBay for $68.99. While installing those I noticed a wire harness under the front bumper that was capped off. It turns out that is the fog light wire. I ordered the stock wire harness and switch through my dealer for another $60, but you probably could find them cheaper on eBay. The part numbers are:
Switch for head/fog lights, no auto headlights: AL3T 13D061 BA3JA6
Fog light wire harness: BC3Z 15A211 A

Well, I plugged in the wire harness and the new switch, but the fog lights aren't coming on. Is there something I could have missed?

After doing some searching I found that since my truck is an XL without power windows and locks, I need to also switch out my fuse box to a smart junction box. Unfortunately the only place I can find the smart junction box is in a kit on eBay that also includes everything I already have. I asked the seller for the part number and all they want to do is sell me their kit. Worst case I'll just buy the kit for the box and resell the rest. Does anybody have the part number for the smart junction box?

Try the people at FICMRepair.com - FORD Powerstroke 6.0 FICM Repair, PHP Tuning and Truck Parts
BTW They are a FTE Sponsor.
They have access to real Ford parts and try not to bend you over on the price.
If you don't see the item on there site just send them a message and they can
find it for you.

Also one last thing. With a Smart Junction Box you may need to have some
programming done. Would be good to know that before you spend the cash
and find out that it will need more cash to make it "think".

Good luck with the project and please report back what you find and the fix.

I looked into this for my dads 15' XL. You need a new module. But you can't just install it and go. From my reading you have to have the truck reprogrammed after changing the module because the truck won't start after the swap.

So I figured $305 for the complete kit and then probably at least another $300 for the dealer to put in the module and reprogram. Another genius idea from Ford just to save a few pennies by not putting a few extra contacts in the XL module vs XLT module. Everything else is the same on it.

Yikes. Might just go with the aftermarket toggle switch for now. It's crazy they would put the wire harness on the truck in the factory but still leave out such an important piece of the puzzle.
