We run Westerns for our customers and on our lot, but really just go with whatever shop is closest and has the best reputation. Some places are open 24/7 when there is snow, and that's a plus for when things break (which of course they only break when you're using it).
As for the air dam, we remove it on all our plow trucks. It doesn't get damaged so you could put it back on I suppose. I just never cared for the "cut out" look and would rather let the customer decide.
I've run Westerns for a long time. Last truck that I plowed commercially with had a Fisher on it. What a beast that was.
I currently have an old f150 with a western unimount, it does the job for what I do with it. But the replacement truck for this one will have a fisher on it.
Thanks for the advice everyone, after your assistance, research and watching YouTube videos, I will probably go with western as it seems the easiest to mount and dismount.
