I watched it fine...I think that the cost of that gun would be a bit prohibitive.

I just saw this product featured on a TV car show and ordered some to try out https://www.evaporust.com/

I had never heard of this method. This is exciting.

But they are far outside my budget.

I just got a link from someone else on this topic. I was about to start a new thread and this one popped up. Us crazy folk think alike.

1000 Watts High Power Laser Systems - cleanLASER
They aren't available to individuals and the smallest starts at $50,000.

^ I found a demo model for sale. Its only the 500 watt model, half the size of the one in the video. Its $275,000!!??!! Surface Preparation and Cleaning with Laser Technology

Guess I'll stick to my Krud Kutter Must For Rust. At least until I win the powerball.

I'm sure you could swing it with your wife if you promised to do some manscaping. Surely that would remove hair as well,

wow, that Krud Cutter looks impressive. Does it really work that well?
The Lowes reviews look good. I might have to try this for my bed. I'm not too excited about the wire brush on an angle grinder route.

I think it works best if it's something you can dip, or a horizontal surface. The material needs to stay wet with the product. So vertical surfaces are a bit tougher as you have to continually apply the product to keep the surface wet. It seems to take longer to work if not submerged.

I'd say the lady in the video used a new piece of metal with light oxidation. I didn't see any pits or scale. Here is a more real world test. I dipped a hinge in the Krud Kutter just for the heck of it. I knocked off the loose rust with a hand held wire brush and washed it off with water. Then dipped it for 45 minutes. In the "after" picture you can see the line where the hinge was sticking out of the solution.

Before:

After 45 minutes:

It definitely works, just expect longer times than the infomercial for old steel. And longer if it can't be dipped.

Lots of good products out there, most are phosphoric acid based. With a little research you can find some good deals like this: Klean-Strip 1 gal. Phosphoric Prep and Etch-GKPA30220 - The Home Depot
I wrote a tech article on the HAMB some years ago about electrolytic rust removal using sodium carbonate and a simple DC voltage source (battery charger). Works great on small parts.
