Question Transmission Modulator

My truck is a 1989 Bronco II, 2.9, 4 wheel, After driving a few hours, I made a quick stop, came out of the store my truck hesitated on start-up, then started and blew out very dense WHITE smoke, it continued for the 3 miles home. I was told that the HEAD GASKET had blown, however it did NOT overheat. (I checked the Radator and all the other fluids all is full) I learned about a product called BLUE DEVIL, an additive/sealant that is guaranteed to seal the gasket, when I went to buy it, I described the problem to the AutoParts guy and he says he thinks it sounds more like the tran, Modulator? He also said that the Modulator is located on the passenger side of the transmission? I cant seem to locate it. I had a bad oil leak awhile back and I havent gotten around to degreasing the underneath. Could anyone give me a more detailed location or even better a PIC/diagram? You help is appreciated.. Thanks in advance,, Sherrie

Transmission Modulator

If the modulator is leaking you will find auto tranny fluid in the vacuum line that comes up the back of the engine. That is the correct location but it might be hidden by a cross member.
