My 1959 F100 before my daughter and I start on it.

Looks like a good starting point. Good luck to you both.

The Plan

Our plan is a 351C that I picked up and a 5 speed.
Paint white over blue. IFS.
Looking for ideas on brakes, IFS will give me disc brakes for the front and disc for the rear 9". Looking for master cyl ideas. Thank You.

Any of the modern full size Fords' master cylinders/brake booster/pedal assemblies will work just fine if you swap them out together--Crown Vic, explorer, excursion, f100, 250, 350, etc. Pretty sure they are all set up with a single 1/8" port for the rear and a single 1/4" for the front, but it's not too important. Youll need to T-them and reduce before the calipers anyway. Vacuum from your new engine will be plenty for the booster. Mind the bubble vs double flare when you pull the doner and make all your new fittings the same. Cut and save as many of the fittings on the doner if you can. I find it easier to use what was already in the hole. Save the spacers and nuts @ the firewall when you pull the pedal, and mind the order. You can adjust pedal elevation by adding or removing washers between the firewall and pedal assembly. There is also an adjustment screw between the booster and pedal rod that adjusts travel before engagement. I used a 95 crown vic doner booster, M-cylinder and pedal assembly, and made my own lines for my current 59. Anything related to antilock was thrown in the scrap pile. If you want to get fancy, you can add line-locks and a bias control for a couple hundred bucks and little effort while doing this. I've done this on a handful of vehicles. Bias was unnecessary for the Vic doner/59. All 4 lock up at the same time. I used a 94 s10 Blazer originally equipped with antilock once for a doner and the rears had to be biased down to keep the front engaging first. For some reason the GM ones put closer to the same out of each port. I think those are both 1/4" lines at the M-cylinder ports. Probably why if I remember that correctly.

TY

I have a 79 F250 I can rob the parts off of.
I've swapped pedals before on my 77 4x4 (auto to 4sp)
Mostly worked on the 67-79 F250's in my younger days.

From what I have found, the rear disc brake setup is overrated!! I have used a bunch of hydraboost systems with disc drum and they were incredible! We put the disc setup on our straight axle but are a long time from trying it out. The CPP booster and master cylinder fits great and is pretty cheap on EBAY.

Thank you

I think I will skip the disc rear. I can change that anytime if I want to.
